Digital Marketing “company”

I have had an exciting start to the new financial year. To prepare for my inevitable switch to become 100% self-employed I felt I had to get some basic administration in order. I couldn’t bear the thought of having to read ASIC pages and spend time on research, my time is such a scarce resource already. Instead, I went in search of a new accountant and had myself set up as a Pty Ltd.

Traffic Act Pty Ltd. Sounds great if you ask me :) I might treat myself to a new logo now too. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Digital Director

But that is not all, I have also decided to increase my involvement in cookandkitchen to become a working director of the business. Yeah, I know,… as a self-employed mother I shouldn’t put too much on my gourmet plate, but I am excited about the team I am working with, the concept and possibilities of the cookandkitchen website.  Anyone who is into eating Australian gourmet food, would agree with me :) [Allow me to quickly plug the website ] Go and have a look at the deliciousness we sell and you will soon see why I couldn’t resist myself! Get a 15% discount from me when you put the TRAFFIC15 code in when you place your first order too. [end plug]

change behaviour

I went to the Mumbrella conference yesterday in Sydney and was most impressed with Adam Ferrier‘s keynote on how to change people’s behaviour.

Adam Ferrier is a consumer psychologist and made some interesting comments about how best to go about trying to shift behaviour. The secret he says is getting people to “act”. Don’t just feed them emotional messages, but get them engaged and participating and voila!,…you stand the best chance of changing someone.

Yes, getting people to ACT, that is what Traffic Act is all about. Its how the company name actually came about. Just sending “traffic” to a website is not enough. Its need to be qualitative and it need to be traffic act acts on something. Great call Adam Ferrier, I wholeheartedly agree :)

world going Gaga

The world is going nuts over Lady Gaga. She has 10MM followers on twitter and I am not one of them. Am I missing out? I am notoriously disinterested in singers and actors, but I am crazy about digital and social, so I cannot possibly ignore Lady Gaga. Can I?

I also don’t drink coffee , yet I follow Starbucks on facebook, just to stay abreast of their inspiring social strategy. Starbucks are executing a brilliant piece of marketing today by riding the wave of Lady Gaga’s new album release today. Stacbucks are giving away limited downloads to Lady Gaga’s new song on their Digital Network. How very smart. Lets wait and see how many new fans Starbuck will get out of this promotion, it appears people would be going gaga over this already.

I do feel a little left behind now on this whole Gaga-craze, so I will download a Gaga song tonight to “get with it” Any suggestions which song is the best introductio n to Lady Gaga?
